A fire killed a man and his two dogs in the community of Orneville in Piscataquis County.
A man who died in a fire has been identified as 45-year-old Jason Christopher Klawitter of New York.
Neighbors say Jason got out of the house when the fire started Wednesday night, but went back in to try and save his two dogs.
“You know it’s still hard to believe it happened. It was very scary, it was very emotional. And I feel that a lot of people should be more appreciative of what they have because anything could happen at any moment of any day at any time,” said Tyesha Simone Phillips, a neighbor.
Officials are still investigating the cause of the fire.
