Michiganers can claim another of their own as a world record-holder!
Super athlete Slingshot soared through the air this weekend to set a new high-bar in the sport of dock diving.
It was during the North American Diving Dogs Qualifier in Ohio that the 3-and-a-half-year-old whippet, owned by Rachel Brinkman, flew past competitors to shatter the previous record.
Slingshot, who hails from the town of Fenton, sailed a total of 35 feet, 3 inches.
Owner Brinkman said she was amazed Slingshot seemed to get better with every jump.
“He’s finally fully matured and filled out, he’s really in the best shape of his life. A big part of it is that and the other part is that we train and condition him regularly for this so he just keeps getting better,” she told TV5.
