Get ready to fall in love with Bramble, a precious stag that is convinced he is a household pet due to tragic circumstances.
A 66-year-old man named Geoff Grewcock runs a home-turned-wildlife sanctuary in Nuneaton, England. One day, he was brought a 2-week-old fawn that was found unconscious in a field.
Once he had nursed him back to health, he tried to release him back into the wild at three different deer parks, but was warned the stag would likely be shot.
Unable to cope with the idea, Geoff brought him back to his bungalow and raised him just like a household pet. And now, the 10-year-old stag has developed very canine habits, like drinking from a doggie bowl, meeting guests at the gate when they arrive, or just plain lounging around the house.
“He’s just like a dog or a small child,” Geoff says in the video below. “He just comes in the house [and raids] the fridge and the cupboards. He’ll take all the food out.
“And the food he doesn’t want he’ll just drop in front of the dogs. So when he starts raiding…a lot of times the dogs will sit ’round him, thinking ‘Oh I’m gonna get food.’”
