A nice drive to clear one’s head is no longer just for adults! The people at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto, California have come up with an ingenious solution for the pre-surgery jitters a lot of children go through. Driving themselves into surgery, instead of being wheeled in on a gurney.

For now, pediatric patients can choose between a miniature pink Volkswagen Beetle and a black Mercedes to make their way to surgery.

“These sweet rides take our smallest patients to the operating room,” the hospital said in a statement to PEOPLE. “The goal is to reduce anxiety and stress and make the experience less scary for everyone involved.”

The cars can be operated by the kids themselves or by remote control, and have functioning headlights and taillights. They even have a radio so the kids can choose what kind of music can best put them at ease before their surgery.
Check out this little cutie happily making her way towards her operation, stress-free!
VW Beetle for Pediatric Surgical Patients
With a little passenger in tow, Caroline takes our new pink Beetle for a spin! Doctors Medical Center now has two little cars available for our young surgical patients to ride into the operating room. We can see the stress and anxiety melt away when they hop in the car ❤
